Congress hall with a stage and delegate badge, and a road from the airport
Quick answer

Most international congresses in Istanbul take place in Harbiye, Şişli, at the Istanbul Congress Center and the Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Center, which face each other and are linked by a passage. Harbiye is about 37 km and 50 minutes from Istanbul Airport (IST) outside rush hour, and a private transfer costs from €42 per car. Other large venues are the Haliç Congress Center in Beyoğlu, on the Golden Horn, and the Istanbul Expo Center in Yeşilköy, Bakırköy.

Harbiye: the Istanbul Congress Center and Lütfi Kırdar

The Istanbul Congress Center opened in 2009 in Harbiye, in the Şişli district. The Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Center stands across the street and is connected to it by a passage, so large congresses often use both. Harbiye is next to Nişantaşı and a short ride from Taksim, and many delegate hotels are within walking distance.

From Istanbul Airport the drive is about 37 km and usually around 50 minutes outside rush hour. From Sabiha Gökçen on the Asian side the drive crosses the Bosphorus and is longer. Weekday mornings and evenings can add 30 minutes or more, so leave room before an opening session.

Haliç Congress Center

The Haliç Congress Center is in Beyoğlu, on the Golden Horn (Haliç in Turkish). The building was once the city's slaughterhouse and is now a cultural and congress venue. We price it as the Taksim and Beyoğlu zone, the same as hotels in Taksim.

Istanbul Expo Center in Yeşilköy

Trade fairs often take place at the Istanbul Expo Center (İstanbul Fuar Merkezi) in Yeşilköy, in the Bakırköy district near the former Atatürk Airport. It is on the European side, close to the sea road along the Marmara. Note that Atatürk Airport no longer handles regular passenger flights: international visitors arrive at Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen (SAW).

Moving a group of delegates

  • One booking for the whole group: we send several vehicles for one arrival and coordinate them together. Our minibus seats up to 16 passengers; larger groups get a mix of vans and minibuses.
  • Arrival list: send us the names, flight numbers and hotels on WhatsApp and we plan each movement. We track every flight, and the first 60 minutes after landing are free.
  • Hotel to venue and dinners: for a full day of meetings, a car with driver by the hour (8 or 10 hours) is often simpler than separate rides. See our chauffeur service.
  • Invoice: companies and organisers can pay by monthly invoice. For a programme, see M.I.C.E. transfers.

Meeting your driver

At Istanbul Airport, walk out of the arrivals hall through Exit 13; our team waits at the 3E sign with your name. At Sabiha Gökçen, go to the TÜRSAB building opposite column 5 and tell reception you are there for 3E. The full walk-through is in how to find your driver at IST and SAW.
